Obituary of Joan A. Bianchi

The children of Joan Bianchi, 82, of Milford, Pennsylvania sadly announce the passing of their beloved mother on May 8, 2023. Following her courageous battle with cancer she is reunited with the love of her life, her husband Don.

Born Joan Ann to Sophie and Benny Kubicki, she was raised in Jersey City. While attending St. Michaels High School in Union City, a handsome young man dared to ask her out. She accepted, and they married in 1961. Their love story would span 60+ years until Don’s passing in July of 2022.

Together they built their life while welcoming children Jimmy, Denise, and Debby along the way. A fun & outgoing couple so blissfully happy and in love, it was evident to everyone who met them.

Joan worked in the Rutherford school system until she and Don retired to Milford, Pennsylvania in 2003. Despite retirement and relocation, Joan made regular trips as “the road warrior” back to Bergen County bravely traversing Route 80.

Prior to their retirement their children married: Jimmy to Renee, Denise to Marty Frontin, and Debby to Eric. They were blessed with 7 grandchildren who gave her the monikers of Mamaw, Memaw & Grandma. Her treasures Alexandra Frontin, Miranda Schmalfuhs, Jon Arendas, Crystal Arendas, Gregory Bianchi, Nicole Arendas, and Christopher Bianchi and one great grandson, Anthony Mannion filled her life with joy. Her cherished fur grand babies include Griffin, Friskie, and Catherine.

Joan is also survived by her sister Lorraine and her husband Chris Wymbs, her brother Ken Kubicki and their families.

Joan was a proud “second mom” to many of her children’s friends who found a safe place in her heart and home. Her capacity to love was infinite as she was welcoming and accepting of all. Her departure from this world will have a far-reaching impact but we are comforted knowing she is finally with Dad so they may continue their forever love.

Viewing will be at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W Harford Street, Milford, PA Thursday, May 11, 2023

2-4 PM & 6-8PM with service at 8PM.
